Colorful Wheel of Emotions chart with various feelings labeled. Below, text reads: "A clean, orderly space gives people room to feel."

I clean five different wellness offices every week. And in each one, I notice a version of the same thing: the feeling wheel.

You’ve probably seen it, a colorful chart that helps people name emotions like joy, anger, sadness, fear, and peace.

Every time I wipe a counter or empty a trash can in one of those spaces, I see that wheel taped to a cabinet or pinned to a wall, and I think about all the people who come there to untangle their feelings, people carrying grief, anxiety, exhaustion, or hope.

And I realize something: the work I do may never show up on that wheel, but it still supports it.

A clean, orderly space gives people room to feel. It removes distractions, lowers anxiety, and makes the invisible work of healing a little easier.

Maybe that’s part of redemption too, caring for the environment that helps others heal.

When I clean with redemption in mind, I’m not just keeping things tidy; I’m helping create space for restoration, in small, quiet ways that most people will never notice.

But that’s okay.

Because the work still matters.
